BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Government has sanctioned a special grant of 1 crore rupees for the construction of a new Brahma Taladhwaj Rath for Lord Baladev Jew in Kendrapara.
The newly allocated funds are dedicated to ensuring that the construction of the Brahma Taladhwaj Rath meets the highest standards of craftsmanship and safety. By addressing these structural needs, the government aims to preserve the sanctity of the rituals and ensure that the Lord’s journey is conducted with the dignity and punctuality it deserves. The Law Department has already issued specific instructions to streamline the process and begin the holy work.
Law, Works, and Excise Minister Shri Prithviraj Harichandan shared that the structural integrity of the existing chariot’s 14 wheels had become a cause for concern. These mechanical issues frequently hampered the smooth movement of the Rath, leading to delays that saw the chariot reaching the Mausima Mandir two days behind schedule. Similar hurdles were encountered during the return journey, or Bahuda Jatra, causing distress among the servitors and the massive gathering of devotees.
