NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: National Investigation Agency (NIA) Director General Jogesh Chandra Modi in New Delhi on Monday said that activities of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB), a Bangladeshi terrorist organisation, have increased in Odisha, Assam and Jharkhand in recent past.
The JMB operatives are carrying out their activities in disguise as Bangladeshi immigrants, said Modi at a two-day NIA national conference of chiefs of Anti-Terrorism Squad and Special Task Force (STF) that began on Monday.
The terror outfit has increased its area of operations in India and expanded its activities to Bihar, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Kerala, Modi said.
The NIA has identified 125 suspicious JMB operatives and shared the information with other agencies, he said. The NIA has done an excellent work in curbing terror funding and Maoist activities, he added.B’deshi terrorist group increasing activities in Odisha
