BARIPADA/BHUBANESWAR: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched the distribution of Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) smart health cards in the Mayurbhanj district. Chief Minister Patnaik also laid foundation & inaugurated developmental projects worth Rs 2484.24 crore in the district. 5T Secretary VK Pandian and State Ministers, MPs and MLAs were among those present.
During Chief Minister Patnaik’s visit, foundation stones were laid for 405 projects worth Rs 2151.96 Crore and 134 projects were inaugurated worth Rs 332.29 Crore. The projects include drinking water supply, healthcare, roads and bridges, power supply, urban development etc.
“Odisha is the only state where the state government bears all the expenses from testing to treatment for all patients during the Covid-19 pandemic,” he said, adding that every life is precious. The Chief Minister said that three and a half crore people from 9600,000 households in the state would benefit from the Smart Health Card.Chief Minister said that 15,000 hectares of land in 94 villages were receiving water from the canal in the Subarnarekha Irrigation Project last July. The Chief Minister also said that a mega piped water project worth Rs 3,200 crore is being implemented to provide piped water to all families in Mayurbhanj. He further added that more than 500 projects worth of Rs 2,300 crore investment are being inaugurated and laid today.
