BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Saturday lauded the role of MSMEs in creating jobs and assured all possible support from Government side. Addressing the business community at ‘Business Eminence Awards’ organised by Dharitri and Orissa POST on Saturday, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated the award winning entrepreneurs & termed their success despite the pandemic as an inspiration.

Chief Minister Patnaik said that MSMEs are the most job intensive sector after agriculture & hence require adequate support. CM cited the increased allocation to the sector & special Covid package of ₹289Cr for MSMEs by the Govt & restated his commitment to support the local industries.

Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who attended the function, thanked the founder of Odisha Post and Dharitri, editor and everyone involved for continuously presenting the social, political and economic views of Odisha as a responsible media for 47 years.

“Along with this, congratulations to the successful entrepreneurs who were awarded in the ‘Business Eminence Awards’ today.Renowned freedom fighter Dr. Beginning from Harekrishna Mahatab, Biju Patnaik and the first woman chief minister of the state, Nandini Satpathy has contributed many things for the welfare of Odisha,” Pradhan said.

In today’s time when the world economy is affected, we have to take Odisha forward by remembering the ideas of these individuals and increase the responsibility of the strivers to create wealth creation in the society.Odisha will complete 100 years of formation as a linguistic state in 2036 after next 15 years. At this time, we all have to strengthen the lower middle and middle class by providing basic facilities with education, healthcare, he said.

“In our state Odisha, there are multilingual students. Skilled Odia children are working in other fields including IT. So these people have to utilize their intellectual power to the fullest of business potential.The possibility of railway, roadways, skyways, maritime economy in the state of Odisha is not only for 4 crore Odia but to fulfill the needs of entire East India. When this decade is going to be roaring-20 for India, Odisha will be the backstage of business sector, it is undoubtedly,” the Union PNG-Steel Minister added.
