RAJKANIKA/AUL/KENDRAPARA/CUTTACK: Kendrapara BJD Lok Sabha MP Anubhav Mohanty has visited several flood affected areas of the district and met affected people and assured them all possible support from district administration as well as State Government.
“ମୋ କେନ୍ଦ୍ରାପଡ଼ା ଡେରାବିଶ ବ୍ଲକ ବେଣିପୁର ଗ୍ରାମ ପଞ୍ଚାୟତ ଓ ପଟ୍ଟାମୁଣ୍ଡାଇ ବ୍ଲକର ବାଛରା,ମଣ୍ଡପଡ଼ା ବନ୍ୟା ପ୍ରଭାବିତ ଅଞ୍ଚଳ ବୁଲି ଦେଖିବା ସହ ଆମ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ତରଫରୁ ଯୋଗାଇ ଦିଆଯାଉଥିବା ପିଇବା ପାଣି, ରନ୍ଧାଖାଦ୍ୟ ଏବଂ ସମସ୍ତ ସୁଵିଧା ଓ ଅସୁବିଧା ବିଷୟରେ ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଅଧିକାରୀଙ୍କୁ ପଚାରି ବୁଝିଲି। ମୋ ସହିତ ମାନ୍ୟବର ରାଜନଗର ବିଧାୟକ ଶ୍ରୀ ଧ୍ରୁବ ଚରଣ ସାହୁ ଭାଇ, ମାନ୍ୟବର ପାଟକୁରା ବିଧାୟିକାଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତିନିଧି ଶ୍ରୀ ସଞ୍ଜୟ ଅଗ୍ରୱାଲ ଭାଇ, ଜିଲ୍ଲା ପ୍ରଶାସନ, ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ ବିଭାଗର କର୍ମଚାରୀ, NDRF ଓ ODRAF ର କର୍ମଚାରୀ ଏବଂ ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଜନ ପ୍ରତିନିଧି ମାନେ ମଧ୍ୟ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ଥିଲେ ।,” MP Mohanty tweeted.
As many as 3 blocks of Kendrapara namely Aul, Rajkanika and Pattamundai were badly hit due to flood. Near about 1.5 lakh people belonging to 54 Gram Panchayats were severely affected.
As many as 2 breaches occurred in the district till now. While one breach has occurred on the Birupa river near Benipur under Derabish block, another breach occurred on the Kharasrota river in Madhuban under Dimiripal GP of Aul block.Many villages under Aul Assembly segment, which is facing Rivers like, Brahmani, Baitarani and Kharosrota have been submerged due to flood water in view of heavy rain.
Principal Secretary Industries Hemant Sharma, who was assigned the charge of Kendrapara by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, held a meeting with the district administration in order to monitor the flood situation and the measures taken by the district administration for rescue and relief operations.The district administration has evacuated nearly 3,000 flood affected people in the district.
Meanwhile, BJD’s 4th times MLA and former Minister Pratap Keshari Deb has visited several Panchayats under both Aul and Rajkanika blocks under his Aul Assembly seat in Odisha’s Kendrapara and met flood affected people.
MLA Deb has also distributed dry food and other essential commodities among the flood victims and assured all Government help to the flood victims. MLA Deb also is in regular touch with block officials both Aul and Rajkanika for relief and rescue operations.MLA Deb asked officials of Aul and Rajkanika to provide all possible support to the flood victims and asses the damaged caused to agriculture and allied products.
Meanwhile, next 24 hours will be very crucial for Odisha as a major volume of water will flow through the delta region of Mahanadi river system as the authorities of Hirakud dam have already released flood water through 46 sluice gates.The fresh flood water coming from Chhattisgarh area which is being released on Saturday, will reach the delta area on Sunday noon.
The water flow at Mundali at 9 PM on Saturday has already reached 9.56 lakh cusec and the volume will further increase with fresh water coming down from Hirakud dam.The water flow at Barmul was 8.97 lakh cusec and it was 10.02 lakh cusec at Khairmal. As such the floods in Odisha have already affected 8 lakh people and killed 16 people so far while damaging 8,000 houses and damaging crops in over 3 lakh hectare of land.
