BHUBANESWAR: The Kendrapara Medical Steering Committee comprising members from BJP, Congress and CPI , CPI(M), SUCI and APP, on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to Governor Prof Ganeshi Lal seeking for an Urban CHC in Kendrapara municipality.
The Committee said, the Government has shifted the DHH functioning at Khadianga in ward no-11 under Kendrapara Municipality to Shyamgudia , which is outside of city and comes under Kendrapara block.
Panchayats like Keshpur, Chandanpur, Sanmantia, Palasingha, Gangapara, Baro, Koro, Kapaleswar,Gulnagar, Ostapur, Kansar, Purusottampur and Ayeba, having 70,000 population, depend on DHH at Khadianga. Together with municipal population, 1 lakh people affected by the decision, it said.
Therefore, the committee requested the Government to prevail upon the State Government to do the needful. Former Minister Ganeswar Behera, BJP leader Salim Khan, CPI Leader Gayadhar Dhal and others were among those in the delegation and submitted the memorandum to Governor at Raj Bhawan here.
