BHUBANESWAR:The Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi today launched the “Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana” in the state and gave away the bride on the occasion of the mass marriage of 2019 couples. Under this scheme, Rs. 60 thousand will be provided to the girls. Rs. 45 thousand will be directly transferred to the girl’s bank account and Rs. 15 thousand will be spent on the wedding arrangements. According to the scheme, the girl must be between the ages of 18 and 35 and must be a permanent resident of the state. An allocation of Rs. 59 crore has also been made in the budget for the next five years for this scheme.
The financial burden of marriage will be reduced, mainly on the families of the economically weaker sections. There will be more incentive for the respect, social security and abolition of the dowry system for the countless mothers and sisters of the state.
In addition, this scheme of the state government is a strong and welcome step in strengthening the social security of mothers and sisters in the state. State President Shri Manmohan Samal has said that the “Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah Yojana” will strengthen the respect and empowerment of women of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and will strengthen “Women-led Development”. State President Shri Manmohan Samal has expressed his heartfelt congratulations and felicitations to Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and the state government for this.
