JHARSUGUDA/BHUBANESWAR: Odisha Chief Minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik on Sunday ventured into the campaign ground and urged voters to vote for party candidate Deepali Das on May 10 in bypolls to Jharsuguda MLA seat.
“Deepali is the daughter of this soil. I have this hope that you will give her a chance to serve this land. I request you all to bless BJD candidate Deepali Das,” he said in his address at a public rally at Amilipali in Jharsuguda.
Patnaik sought the blessings of the people for Deepali, daughter of slain Minister late Naba Das.
“Today, his daughter Deepali Das has come forward to take over his duties and serve you. You know, she is a highly educated girl. She has special interest in social service. I believe, if she gets the opportunity to serve the people of Jharsuguda, she can do it efficiently,” the CM said.
“ Win and defeat are part of the election. We all must maintain decency during the election campaign. No one, especially our mothers, should be insulted or disrespected,” he maintained.
