IPS Probationers meet Odisha Chief Secretary

BHUBANESWAR: The Team of IPS probationers included Nitesh Wadhwani from Uttar Pradesh, Abhilas G. from Tamil Nadu and S. Sushree from Kerala shared their training and probation experience with the Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy here.

Chief Secretary advised the probationers to apply their prudence in making the police station based citizen-centric practices like Reception Desk, Mahila & Sisu Desk, etc more people’s friendly and effective. Chief Secretary also advised them to make the best use of the crime and criminal tracking network system (CCTNS) software in their day to day activity of apprehending and prosecution. Tripathy added, the system is now being funded by State Government and steps are being taken to link it up with litigation management and foreign seek systems.

Focusing on the attitude and efficiency of the senior police officers Tripathy said, “Government has a well-developed system of performance assessment; and, better performance even in any remotest part of the State is rewarded by Government. He advised them to operate in team spirit with a positive attitude towards wider goals in a large system”.

Tripathy assured them all possible help from senior officers of the State in the smooth discharge of their duties. The Nodal Officer DSP Sri GPSS Nanda apprised that the probationers belonged to 71st Batch of IPS. They would be in Biju Patnaik Police Training College up to 21st December and would be engaged in different activities of their probation training. They would be posted to different districts from 23rd December of the current year.
