KORAPUT: On Wednesday the Dr Justice Sanjeeb Kumar Panigrahi, Judge, High Court of Orissa, Cuttack and Administrative Judge, Koraput Judgeship has inaugurated the 40-hours mediation workshop for Advocates of Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Rayagada & Kalahandi in august presence of Justice Savitri Ratho and Justice Mruganka Sekhar Sahoo, the Judges of the High Court of Orissa and Members Mediation Monitoring Committee. The 40 hour Training Programme has been scheduled to be conducted for 5 days from 28th June,2023 to 2nd July,2023.
Among others, the District Judge-cum-Chairman,District Legal Services Authority,Koraput-Jeypore Sri Satya Narayana Mishra, Mrs.Giribala Singh, Judge-Trainer of Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) Madhya Pradesh, Mr.M.K.Jadav Judge-Trainer of Mediation and Conciliation Project Committee (MCPC) Maharashtra, Sri Saumyak Patra, Co-ordinator, Arbitration & Mediation Center,High Court of Odisha, Sri Biresh Kumar Pattnaik, President District Bar Association, Jeypore,all the Judicial Officers of headquarter, Sri Suman Jena,Secretary,District Legal Services Authoirty, Jeypore, Sri Srujan Sarswat, Asst.Secretary,Odisha State Legal Services Authority, Cuttack, Trainee Advocates of District Bar Association, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Rayagada & Kalahandi and members of the Bar Association, Jeypore.
The welcome address has been delivered by the District Judge,Koraput-Jeypore Sri Satya Narayana Mishra by adorning the Hon’ble Judges to the dais and brief regarding the purpose of the 40 hours Training Programme.
Hon’ble Dr. Justice Sanjeeb Kumar Panigrahi, highlighted regarding the process of Arbitration and Alternative Dispute Resolution, role and responsibilities of the Lawyers to apprise a client about ADR options and emphasized that the need of the hour is to change the public attitude towards more constructive ways of resolving disputes so that the process of Alternative Dispute Resolution shall see a new wave of democratization of justice delivery.
Hon’ble Justice Miss. Savitri Ratho, highlighted that, Mediation should be practiced as a best form of dispute resolution method as it is cost effective process. Mediation is a both side win process where where the parties, unlike court litigation case will not get any adverse effect. Once Trained the Mediator can deal the eventuality of any litigation in a better way.
Hon’ble Mr. Justice Mruganka Sekhar Sahoo addressed the delegates that, Mediation is a best mechanicism for adjucating the dispute between the parties through a 3rd party and a Trained Mediator can be proved helpful in this regard.
President,District Bar Association,Jeypore Sri Biresh Pattnaik expressed that Mediation is a process to clear up the mis-understanding between the parties, it’s a devise to settle the dispute by the parties themselves and its protect the interest of the parties.
