BHUBANESWAR:  With incumbent Chief Secretary Suresh Mohapatra’s 6-month extension of tenure ending this month unless extended further, hectic lobby has been started to replace Mohapatra.

Senior IAS officers like UP Singh, GV Venugopala Sarma, TK Pandey, NK Sundaray, Raj Kumar Sharma, Rajesh Verma, CJ Venugopal, PK Mohapatra and PK Jena are in race but chances looks bright for PK Jena, sources said.

Jena recently relived from Rural Development Department. Sources said, with many Senior IAS Officers are now serving their Central postings; PK Jena may emerged as Dark Horse.

33 years in IAS service, PK Jena never compromised his basic principle of team work spirit and timely intervention into issues relating to either administration or general public.

The 1988 batch IAS officer earned huge praise for his dedicated work during  several natural disaster , most known, 1999 super cyclone.
