BHUBANESWAR: Like his late legendary statesman father ‘The Tall Man’ Biju Patnaik, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik continued to guide Odisha while setting a high morale ethics to fight the COVID-19.

Knowing well that the State is running shortage of funds, the maverick Naveen Patnaik boosted the morale of his party men, officials and COVID-19 warriors, when he reiterated his commitment for the 4.5 Crore Odia people and made it clear that funds will not be stumbling blocks for Odisha’s fight against COVID-19.

“Even though Odisha’s positive tally was on Thursday reached at 30,378 with fresh 1203 new cases and the State’s death toll rose to 169 but the Chief Minister Patnaik seems putting all his efforts to bring situation into normalcy,” added a senior official manning the CMO at Lok Seva Bhawan.

Official sources said, so far out of 30,378 positive cases, a whopping of 18,938 has been recovered while active stands at only 11,235. “With Chief Minister Patnaik trying his best to avail COVID-19 care centre across the State, situation is likely to improve in next few weeks,” said an official of State Health and Family Welfare Department.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Minister Patnaik had urged the MLAs to take care of Covid warriors and encourage cured people to donate plasma and requested common people to follow Covid guidelines. He assured that there would be no constraint of funds for the Covid-19 fight.

While interacting with the MLAs, he said the State would put every resource in its command to fight the pandemic and save people’s lives. “I see a Gopabandhu Das, a Madhubabu, a Maa Rama Devi, a Parvati Giri in each one of your sacrifices,” Patnaik said.

“When in many States hospitals are charging lakhs of rupees for treatment, our Government is providing everything free of cost. “Whatever best treatment is available in any part of the world, Odisha will implement the same and make it accessible to our people free of cost,” the CM had said.

Hailing the people engaged in the fight against Covid-19, he said, “I can proudly say that my Odia brothers and sisters as Covid warriors are not just doing work for salary but working for a mission to save life of every Odia. Let me as the Leader of the House humbly say that the dedication and sacrifice of our Covid warriors is an inspiration for the entire Odisha.”
