Fighting COVID-19: Naveen orders complete shutdown of Bhubaneswar- Cuttack- Bhadrak in Odisha

BHUBANESWAR/CUTTACK/BHADRAK: With reports more cases COVID-19 positive found in Odisha, the Naveen  Patnaik led BJD Government here, on Friday  announced complete shut down in Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak and Cuttack for 48 hours to knockdown #COVID19.

“ The shutdown will start from 8 PM on Friday and will be in force till 8 PM, Sunday.During the shutdown, all shops including groceries & vegetables will be shut while restricted number of medicine stores will remain open. All lockdown passes have been suspended. #OdishaFightsCorona,” the CMO said.

“Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak and Cuttack, lets show resilience and solidarity during the 48 hour Shutdown. Lets join hands and combat the menace of Corona Virus by staying at home and not venturing out of our houses even for a second #48HourShutdown #OdishaFightsCorona #StayHomeStaySafe,” BJD Rajya Sabha MP Dr Sasmit Patra twitted.

Within minutes of complete shutdown declared in two cities in Odisha in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, one more person has tested positive for the deadly virus taking total number of confirmed cases to six.

The patient from Cuttack with recent travel history to Delhi has been infected with coronavirus, informed Odisha Health & Family Welfare Department on Friday.6th COVID positive case of the State detected in Cuttack with recent travel history to Delhi.
