NEW DELHI/NAGPUR: Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh(RSS), Dr. Mohan Bhagwat cast his vote in the first phase in Nagpur in Maharashtra on Friday.
The RSS Chief Dr Bhagwat said that everyone should vote keeping in mind the interest of the country.
“Voting is our duty as well as a right. By voting, we in a way determine the future of our country for five years. Therefore, everyone should vote keeping in mind the interest of the country. One should vote after thinking for oneself. And therefore, the first personal act I have done today is to vote.” , Dr Mohanji Bhagwat said.
The Prime Mnister Narendra Modi has meanwhile, appealed the young and first time voters to vote in large numbers. 35.67 lakh first time voters are registered to cast their votes. Additionally, there are 3.51 crore young voters in the age group 20-29 years.
Voting is going on for 102 Lok Sabha seats spreading across 21 States and UTs in the first phase of the 7 phases polls along with 92 Assembly Constituencies in the State Assembly Elections in Arunachal and Sikkim.
Around 16.63 crore voters are exercising their franchise at 1.87 lakh polling stations spread across 21 States and UTs.
