NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and my Union HUD and Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri ji for the transformative urban infrastructural upgrades across mission cities of Bhubaneswar, Bhadrak, Baripada, Balasore, Behrampur, Cuttack, Puri, Rourkela and Sambalpur in Odisha under the #AMRUT scheme.
“With a thrust on development of basic infrastructure for water supply, sewerage & septage management, storm water drainage, green spaces & parks and non-motorized urban transport, ₹1,599 crores has been sanctioned for Odisha under the scheme’s State Annual Action Plans (SAAP),” Pradhan said.
“Between 2015-20, a total of ₹885.58 crores was released by the Government of India to Odisha under the AMRUT scheme. 191 Projects under the scheme have been awarded thus far of which 152 projects have been completed and another 39 projects are under progress,” he said.
“These projects along with Smart City Missions in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela underline Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to building a modern Odisha, which can keep pace with the growing aspirations of its denizen,” he added.
