NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: Union PNG-Steel Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and BJP National VP-Spokesperson and 4th times former MP, Baijayant’Jay’ Panda were on Tuesday paid floral tributes to Utkala Gouraba Madhusudan Das , Madhu Babu on his 172nd Birth Anniversary and recollected the Erudite Scholar’s role in formation of Odisha as a separate province and Odia as a separate language.
Union Minister Pradhan twitted that Utkal Gouraba Madhu Babu’s efforts in setting a benchmark for Odia literature will inspire the people of the land for generations. Pradhan’s party colleague and National VP-Spokesperson , Panda twitted with a old video, in which he is reciting a poem in a very literally manner.
“I recorded this a year ago, but the sentiments are eternal, these classic lines penned by #UtkalaGauraba Madhusudan DasMadhu babu was preeminent among the small group in the 19th & early 20th century who led the renaissance of the Odia language, our culture, & consciousness.My tributes to him on his birth anniversary,” the senior BJP leader Panda twitted with a old video clip.
Born in Satyabhampur village, 20 kilometres away from Cuttack, Madhusudan Das was the first graduate and advocate of Odisha and owner of the titles ‘Kulabruddha’ meaning the ‘Grand Old Man’ and ‘Utkala Gouraba’ meaning The Pride of Utkal.Madhu Babu, as he was otherwise called, took his last breath on February 4, 1934.
