BHUBANESWAR: BJD President and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday announced that daughter of late ex-Minister Naba Das, will be Party’s candidate for Jharsuguda bypolls slated for May 10 and results will be announced on May 13.
Ms Deepali Das , D/o of late Naba Kishore Das is the BJD candidate for the Jharsuguda bypolls, Naveen Patnaik said in a statement. BJP may chose Tankadhar Tripathy as its candidate for the bypolls , however, Congress aspirants yet to know.
Election Commission of India had announced Bypoll to the Jharsuguda Assembly Constituency in Odisha that will be held on May 10.
Date of issue of gazette notification on April 13 , last date for nominations slated for April 20 , date of scrutiny of April 21 and date of withdrawal is on April 24.
The counting of votes will take place on May 13, the commission said. The bypoll was necessitated after the murder of ex Minister Naba Kishore Das on January 29, this year.
