BHUBANESWAR: On Saturday, Prasant Kumar Rout, Additional Sub-Collector, Nawarangpur has been arrested by Odisha Vigilance in a DA case.
DA worth Rs.5,21,09,659/-(506%) incl.1 multi storeyed builfing ,Cash over Rs.3.02 Crores, Deposits Rs.92.34 Lakhs(including Rs. 38.64 Lakhs in 2 Benami Accts)etc. unearthed.
During the raid, the agency found a multi-storied building, four plots in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and benami plot at Umerkote. He has also possessed two luxurious cars and spent Rs 87 lakh in the education of his children.
The vigilance has seized gold and silver ornaments worth Rs 21.35 lakh. The raiding team also found Rs 62 lakh deposit in bank and insurance.According to vigilance, Prasant had earlier been arrested ob bribery charges whhen he was the BDO at Bisra Block in Nabarangpur. He had also been suspended on November 6, 2018.
Later, he was posted at additional sub-collector in Nabarangpur on January 18, 2020 after suspension was revoked.Yesterday, the vigilance recovered over Rs 3 crore in cash during raids at his residence in Bhubaneswar.

(1) The double storied residential house of of S.O. located at HIG-115, Kanan Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
(2) The residential house of S.O. located at Nawarangpur, Dist- Nawarangpur.
(3) The office chamber of S. O. located at Nawarangpur, Dist-Nawarangpur.
(4) The parental house of S.O. located at Village-Bahudarada, PS-Bhadrak, Dist-Bhadrak.
This apart, searches are being conducted at 5 other locations of acquaintances of Sri Rout.9 teams of Odisha Vigilance consisting of 02 Addl. SP, 07 DSsP, 08 Inspectors and other staff are engaged in searches. Further report follows.
