COVID-19 Positive reached at 111 in Odisha, 5 Lakhs stranded Odias registers to back Home

BHUBANESWAR: The total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha mounted to 111 after one more person was diagnosed with the infection on Monday.The fresh case is a  34-year-old  male of Basudevpur in Jajpur district. He has travel history to Kolkata.

With this, the total number of positive cases in Jajpur district rose to 19, including 18 active and one recovered. It is pertinent to mention here that Jajpur is the second most COVID-19 affected district in the state after Khordha, which has so far reported 46 cases.Earlier in the day, seven positive cases were reported in the state, including six from Balasore and one from Koraput. So far, 111 cases of COVID-19 were detected in Odisha. The number of active cases is 73. While 37 cured of the infection, one died.

As many as 4.86 lakh people keen to return to Odisha have registered on the portal launched by the State government within last 48 hours.The Odisha government launched the portal, www.covid19.odisha.gov.in on Friday for registration of names of persons wishing to return to Odisha after the lockdown ends.

Chief Spokesperson on COVID-19 Subroto Bagchi said around 6798 panchayat nodal officers have been provided training to ensure hassle-free registration of persons wants to return to the State.This apart, the committee will look into seamless harvest of rabi crop in 17 districts and distribution of kharif crop loan distribution for 2020.
