CUTTACK/BHUBANESWAR: On Monday a demolition squad of Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC) with no valid reason demolished the entry gate of 9, Pithapur which houses the headquarter (HQ) of Smt. Nandini Satpathy Memorial Trust (SNSMT)
A safety wall had been erected to ensure that nobody falls into the filthy open drain which flows there. Neither the flow of the drain nor the service area of the drain were obstructed by this safety wall but the enforcement department demolished it. This property in 1932 was the headquarter of legendary revolutionary Martyr of India’s freedom struggle legendary Shri. Bhagabati Charan Panigrahi, in 1972 it was the HQ of the then CM of Odisha Smt. Nandini Satpathy and since 2022 it houses the HQ of SNSMT Chairman Shri. Suparno Satpathy
Former councillor of Pithapur Kedar Prusty said “This seems like a targeted attack on Shri. Suparno Satpathy. I had had a word with Deputy Commissioner of CMC Ajay Mohanty and am sure that there was no obstruction at Nandini Madam’s home at 9, Pithapur for CMC to have carried out this demolition”.
Shri. Suparno Satpathy in a Facebook post shared the copy of the message sent to Nikhil Pavan Kalyan the Commissioner of CMC along with few photographs. This reporter through sources has confirmed that this is an attempt to shake the legacy of Smt. Nandini Satpathy
