BHUBANESWAR:  Around 50 participants attended a Continuing Medical Education (CME) cum workshop on ‘Semen Analysis Made Easy: Manual and Automatic’ organised on May 4 by the Centre for Human Reproduction (CHR) at Institute of Medical Sciences and SUM Hospital here in association with the Odisha chapter of Indian Fertility Society.

The first session of the event was addressed by Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Pradhan, Head of CHR, in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Pusparaj Samantasinhar, Medical Superintendent Ims & Sum hospital and Dr. Akshay Kumar Mohapatro, Secretary of Odisha chapter of IFS.

It was followed by a brainstorming session on Conventional Semen Analysis as per World Health Organisation (WHO) protocol which was addressed by Dr. Chidananada Dash, Senior Embryologist at CHR while Mr. Subhankar Das, Sales Head of ADVY Chemicals spoke about semen analysis using Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Automatic systems.

The event concluded with a workshop focusing on the manual and automated semen analysis emphasizing on standardization of the procedure and promotion of correct practice.
