Call it Superfast VRS for VK Pandian: Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Department of Personnel and Training Approves in 3 Days, even during Holidays

BHUBANESWAR:  The Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Department of Personnel and Training approved the VSR of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s Private Secretary VK Pandian’s VRS in 3 days.

Even during the last 3 days were holidays, files moved so fast, that the Ministry issued notification informing Odisha Government on Monday, even on a holiday due to Durga Puja Maha Navami Festival.

VK Pandian has been serving CMO for last 12 long years. Pandian was Private Secretary to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik since 2011.

“ Won’t be surprised if Mr Pandian takes charge as Chief Minister of Odisha before next General Elections – such is the power structure in Odisha, no one has clue what’s happening but everyone knows who’s controlling. VRS approved in 3 days during holidays – Super Fast #PandianVRS,” Congress Lok Sabha MP Saptagiri Ulaka said in an X post.

“In reference to letter No.-GAD-SER1-PERS-0100-2014 dated 20.10.2023 from Government of Odisha on the above-mentioned subject, I am directed to convey the approval of the competent authority for acceptance of voluntary retirement of Shri V Kartikeya Pandian, IAS(OD-2000) under Rule 16(2A) of All India Services (Death-cum- Retirement benefits) Rules, 1958 with waiver of the notice period as recommended by the State Government,” Under Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions Department of Personnel and Training Bhupinder Pal Singh wrote to Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration & PG Department, Government of Odisha.

Pandian, a 2000-Batch IAS officer, was working as the Private Secretary (5T) to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. Pandian had changed his Punjab cadre to Odiaha following his marriage to IAS Officer Sujata Kartikeyan, who presently heads, State Government’s Mission Shakti Department.
