BHUBANESWAR: On 27/28.4.2024 night during blocking and checking, drive was intensified under “Safe city drive” against drunken driving and illegal transportation of cash at different locations of BBSR UPD under the leadership of Sri Prateek Shing DCP, BBSR at Sahidnagar, Capital, C.S.Pur, Infocity, Maitribihar , Nayapalli, Khandagiri, Jatni , Tamando, Bharatpur, Infovelly, Balipatna, Nandankana, Chandaka, Badagad, Balianta, Balipatna, Kharavelanagar, Laxmisagar, Dhauli, Lingaraj, Air-field and traffic PS I & II to ensure safety and security across various locations. A meticulous approach was adopted to ensure safe traffic regulations, resulting in significant fines being imposed against violators under “Safe city drive”.
Traffic PS BBSR-I & II have seized total 38 vehicles, out of which 34 numbers of four wheelers and 4 numbers of two wheelers were seized, four wheelers like Audi, Mini Cooper, Honda Wrv, Tata Harrier, ford Eco-sports, Tata Nexon, Creta, Mahindra TUV-300, Kia Seltos and Hundai Veran. Apart from these 25 numbers of four wheelers, 15 numbers (including 2 suspect MCs by Maitribihar ps) of MCs, 02 numbers of three wheelers and 4 numbers of heavy trucks loaded with murum( minor minerals) were seized and cash of Rs.10,500/- have been realised from the violators , cash of Rs. 3,60,000/- have been seized by Chandrasekharpur Police during checking.
This intensified drive aims to transform our city into a “Safer environment” and drive against drunken driving and to restrict the movements of anti-socials and illegal transportations. Alongside these efforts, foot patrolling and flag marches have been initiated to deter any potential untoward incidents and ensure a sense of safety amongst the residents.
Sri Sanjeeb Panda, Commissioner of Police, BBST-CTC supervised the blocking and checking enforcement and urges the cooperation of the public to make this enforcement drive a success and to keep the city safe from day-to-day incidents. Citizens are encouraged to adhere to traffic regulations and cooperate with law enforcement authorities to maintain peace and safety in the community.
