BHUBANESWAR: Thousands of BJP workers led by Party’s National Spokesperson, Dr Sambit Patra, State General Secretaries, Prithwiraj Harichandan, Lekhashree Samantsinghar and Bhubaneswar president Babu Singh on Monday entered into a scuffle with the police while taking out a rally to the Naveen Nivas, the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, in Bhubaneswar. Several activists were taken into preventive custody.
BJP, demanding strict action against the BJD leaders allegedly involved in the Archana Nag honeytrap case and death of Zilla Parishad Member of Nimapara Dharmendra Sahoo, took out a march towards Naveen Nivas from the party office here.
Later, when the rally reached Sishu Bhawan square it was intercepted by the police. Thereafter, a scuffle ensued between the two parties when the BJP workers attempted to break the police cordon.
