BHUBANESWAR:  Bhubaneswar Satynagar Arch Bishop has rejected claims of Puri Sankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati.

Puri Seer while attending a function at Raipur in Chhattisgarh said Jesus Christ was initially a Hindu Vaishnava. Even he had spent some years in India.

Bhubaneswar Satynagar Arch Bishop said neither there is any religious script regarding this nor the Bible has any mention. Christian religion had begun since Jesus came to the earth. But, it is a fact that a disciple of God Jesus had visited India and stayed some days in Kerala. He had neither visited Odisha nor embraced Hinduism, the Bishop added, seeking evidence from the Sankaracharya in this regard.

The Puri Seer said that Jesus had stayed in India for 10 years out of which he spent three years in Jagannath Dham, Puri. During his stint in the pilgrim town, he had also come in contact with the then Sankaracharya of the Govardhan Peeth. The seer made such a statement based on the research of some foreign experts.
