Battle-2024: Odisha BJP Leaders joins a Brainstorming Meeting at Guwahati in Assam, Baijayant-Manmohan Takes the lead

GUWAHATI/BHUBANESWAR:  Ahead of 2024 general elections, BJP leaders from Odisha on Thursday attended a very important organisational meeting at Guwahati in Assam. Apart from Odisha, leaders from 11 other eastern and north eastern States also attended the meeting.

Before the meeting, the BJP leaders paid their obeisance to Jana Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mookerjee on the occasion of his birth anniversary at the party’s State headquarters. There are a total of 142 Lok Sabha seats in these 12 States and in 2019, BJP won 68 of them.

BJP general secretary in charge of Odisha, Sunil Bansal, National Vice-President Baijayant Jay Panda, National Spokesperson, Dr Sambit Patra, State President Manmohan Samal, State Organising secretary Manas Mohanty, others discussed various issues with Party’s National Organising Secretary BL Santosh. Odisha BJP leaders have briefed about State unit’s preparation and future plans ahead of the elections.

BJP’s in-charge for Assam Baijayant Panda said his party does not prepare only before the elections but stays in touch with the people throughout the year. “This particular meeting discussed organisational issues in all State units in the east and northeast,” he added.

“The remarkable journey of the BJP-led NDA government in last 9 years has been dedicated to improving the lives of people, put India on the path of accelerated growth and prosperity. As we approach the General Elections, we are all set to go out to seek blessings of people once more.Today in Guwahati, I joined an organisational meeting with leaders from 12 states in the Eastern and North Eastern India to strategize and prepare for the forthcoming 2024 polls, senior BJP leader Baijayant Panda said in a tweet.

The eight northeastern States have a total of 25 Lok Sabha seats with Assam having the highest of 14. Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura have two seats each, while Mizoram, Nagaland and Sikkim have one seat each. Among the eastern States, West Bengal has 42 seats, Bihar has 40 seats, Odisha has 21 and Jharkhand has 14 seats.
