NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: The BJP has come down heavily on Congress over India’s foreign policy and diplomatic ties with neighbouring Countries. While reacting to the statement of Congress leader in Lok Sabha, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, BJP National VP in charge of Assam and Delhi and former MP, Baijayant Jay Panda in a series of tweets, urged the Congress to learn history before putting such valueless statements in Parliament.
“It seems the entire Congress leadership needs history lessons. Taking a cue from his clueless boss the other day, today its Leader in the Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury made bizarre allegations about India’s relations with neighbouring countries,” Baijayant Jay Panda tweeted @PandaJay.
Listing out Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent achievements, the BJP National VP Jay Panda said “ Under Congress govt, China occupied 37,244 sqkm in 1962 .Until 2020 India had never retaliated against Chinese aggression. In Modi govt, the Indian Army gave it back. Rajiv Gandhi facilitated China’s String of Pearls, now in 7 years our India First policy has pushed back.In the UPA era, Indian company GMR was kicked out of Maldives & President Nasheed was toppled. Today President Ibu Solih reciprocated our Neighbourhood First with India First,”.
“In Sri Lanka, during our sorry UPA years, Hambantota happened. Today Trincomalee Tank Farm is happening. During the UPA years, Bangladesh gave refuge to ULFA terrorists. Today Bangladesh and India celebrate Vijay Diwas together. During the UPA years, we were helpless when 26/11 happened. Today we respond with surgical strikes,” Baijayant Panda said.
“In earlier times, Islamic countries sided with Pakistan. Our president Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed was expelled from the OIC summit in Rabat. Today PM Modi is welcomed in the Gulf and other countries with honours & another thing about China: do read Nehru Ji’s statement in the Lok Sabha on Aug 28th, 1959. The place where the Pangong Tso bridge is now being illegally built by China was occupied by them then,” the Senior BJP Leader Panda said.
“The Congress policy of actively suppressing its talent has led to exodus or silence of those who have read the sad history of what the party has cost India. Those now leading it would do better to keep their knowledge of history to themselves, instead of entertaining us all,” the BJP VP added.
