BERHAMPUR/BHUBANESWAR: As part of its 10-days long Jan Jagaran Padayatra seeking public support to CAA and NRC, the BJP on Friday carried out a massive Padayatra in southern town of Berhampur in Ganjam district, home turf of Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik with Union Minister Babul Supriyo and Party’s National Vice President –Spokesperson Baijayant ‘Jay’ Panda taking the lead.
State General Secretary Bhrugu Baxipatra, senior leader Dilip Mohanty and other senior party colleagues also joined the march while shouting slogan supporting CAA.Panda, a 4th times former MP from Odisha, urged the general public not to be panic and not believe the false campaign carried out by the Congress and Left Forces.
Both Union Minister Supriyo and senior BJP leader Jay Panda visited homes in the city and talked to people about the benefits of the amended citizenship law. He also distributed literature on the subject and urged them to go through it. They also held discussion with several intellectuals, police makers and celebrates.
The BJP has launched a ‘Jan Jagran’ (public awareness) campaign to contact three crore families to counter the opposition’s campaign against the CAA and inform the masses about its features.The campaign will end on January 15.
