BHUBANESWAR: With summons, continued to haunt bigwigs in Odisha, Shradhanjali Behera, one of the associates of honeytrap blackmailer Arcahana Nag who accused Odia film producer Akshaya Parija of sexually exploiting her, on Wednesday appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Bhubaneswar in connection with the high profile sextortion case.
Following the arrest of Archana and the busting of the sextortion racket being run by her, it was found out that Shradhanjali was one of the lady blackmailer’s associates.
The ED grilled over her alleged involvement in blackmailing and extorting money from prominent and influential people with Archana Nag. The producer had earlier filed a complaint against the girl at the Nayapalli police station alleging that Shradhanjali had invited him to her house for dinner and had recorded the video.
He further alleged that Shradhanjali was also blackmailing him by threatening to make the video viral and demanding Rs 5 crore.
Film producer Akshay Parija again appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the honeytrap case today.
Parija had been interrogated by the ED on Tuesday for nine hours. The Ed officials might interrogate both Parija and Archana Nag’s aide Shraddhanjali face-to-face.
It may be noted here that the ED officers have already traced Rs 2.5 crore deposits in the bank accounts of Archana and Jagabandhu between 2017 and 2022. She allegedly amassed over Rs 50 crore along with her husband between 2018 and 2022 by blackmailing and threatening some politicians and rich people.
Arachana and her husband , Jagabandhu were booked under Sections 341, 328, 324, 354 – C, 370, 386/387/388, 389, 419/420, 465, 506, 120 – B of IPC and Section 66 -E, 67 of IT Act and presently lodged at Jharpada Special Jail.
While Archana is accused of extorting lakhs of rupees from politicians, businessmen and influential persons by blackmailing them with videos of intimate moments between her and them, Jagabandhu had alleged involvement in the offence. They possess over Rs 40 crore assets.
The couple have reared a white horse and costly dogs in her alishan bungalow at Satya Vihar in the capital city here. Archana is also a dog lover. She has kept dogs of high breeds. She was spending lakhs of rupees for feeding the horse and the dogs. The Alishan Bungalow of Archana has beds, sofa sets and other furniture worth lakhs of rupees. Besides, she also owns costly cars like BMW, Suzuki Swift and Mahindra Thar.
