BHUBANESWAR: Eighty six-year-old Satyabhama Dash was wheeled into the SUM Covid Hospital on September 29 after testing positive for the virus as doctors examined her condition.

They were worried about her underlying medical condition as she was diabetic and had hypertension, asthma and gastritis problems. Besides, her left leg had been fractured.

The bed-ridden octogenarian fought the grim battle successfully and went home on Friday having defeated the dreaded virus. “I was looked after very well by the doctors and nurses and grateful to God for using this team to heal me,” she said.

The SUM Covid Hospital has been successful in treating senior citizens as several Covid-19 infected persons in their 80’s and 90’s have defeated the infection.
