BHUBANESWAR: The Commissionerate of police have arrested as many as 5 cyber fraud in connection with Cyber Crime and Economic Offence P.S. Case No-39, Dt. 20.09.2022 U/S 420 IPC R.W. Sec. 66(C)/66(D) of Information Technology Act 2000. The accused were nabbed Near Hotel Richi, Master Canteen in Capital City.
The Police busted a fake escort service racket in Bhubaneswar and arrested 5 persons including a woman in this connection.The mastermind of this racket has been identified as Sushant Patra and his wife.The police have also freezed as many as 15 bank accounts of the accused persons with as much as Rs 20 lakh cash deposits.
Police said the accused used to lure customers of providing escorts in hotels by posting advertisements online and later dupe them.
