BHUBANESWAR/BALASORE/TIRTOL: Till 1 pm, 40.51% polling reported from twin by polls in Odisha’s Balasore and Tirtol, polling for which going on.
Reports from Balasore said, Assembly seat no 38 saw 12.11 % polling in Round-1 while it reached 27.6 in second round and till last reports came in , polling in Balasore reached at 41.36% by round-3
The seat no 102 of Tirtol saw slow polling in Round -1 with 7.58 % but it got boosted in round 2 with 24.93% total polling till last report came in from Jagatsinghpur is 39.68 % by round-3.
The number of booths in Tirtol constituency has been increased from 265 to 373, and in Balasore Sadar constituency from 198 to 346.
As many as 2,37,282 voters in Tirtol and 2,30,297 voters in Balasore Sadar will be allowed to exercise their franchise between 7 AM and 6 PM.
As many as 86 booths in Balasore Sadar and 155 booths in Tirtol have been identified as critical polling stations. CAPF deployment and provision of webcasting have been made at such booths.
A total of 90 platoons of police force, 250 officers and 6 companies of CAPF have been deployed for smooth conduct of the bypolls.
