RAIPUR/BHUBANESWAR: BJP National Vice President In Charge for Assam and Delhi, and former 4th times MP from Odisha, Baijayant Jay Panda on Monday met Chhattisgarh Governor Biswa Bhusan Harichandan in State Capital of Raipur.
The BJP National VP Panda and Governor Harichandan discussed various issues during the meeting, sources said. The meeting assumes greater significance in view of the ensuing Assembly elections in Chhattisgarh.
The BJP National VP Jay Panda has been camping at Raipur to oversee Party’s organisational work for the ensuing Chhattisgarh Assembly polls, schedules for which was on Monday announced by the Election Commission of India.
‘Called on His Excellency the Governor of Chhattisgarh, @BiswabhusanHC, in Raipur today. Reflecting on our decades of personal and professional closeness, we spoke about many issues concerning the development of India, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh,” the BJP leader Jay Panda said in an X post.
With Chhattisgarh is neighbouring State of Odisha and having an impressive Odia population, senior BJP Leaders like Jay Panda, MP Aparajita Sarangi have been visiting various places to gather support of Odia voters in favour of the Saffron Party. The BJP National VP Panda have been meeting various Odia Communities settled in Raipur , Bilaspur, Champa, Jagadalpur and other places.
It may be noted here that Purandar Mishra has been given BJP Ticket from Raipur City North Assembly seat. Shri Mishra will be having the privilege of contesting Chhattisgarh Assembly poll as the lone Odia candidate from any nationalised party. It is worth mentioned here that the Gayatri Nagar, where Shri Mishra has founded the largest Lord Jagannath Temple of Chhattisgarh State comes under his electoral constituency.
Recently Purandar Mishra has been unanimously elected as the President of Greater Odia Samaj in Chhattisgarh. The Samaj has been formed with the representatives of 24 odia communities representing 35 lakhs of odia inhabitants in the state. At present Shri Mishra also holds the coveted position of Chief Patron of Chhattisgarh Branch of World Odisha Society.
The entire Odia Community from the nook and corner of Chhattisgarh welcomed the pleasant news of the announcement of Shri Mishra’s candidature in Assembly poll with much fanfare and massive euphoria.
