JEYPORE:  Two days National Seminar organized by Teacher Education Department of Vikram Dev University on “Education of Scheduled Tribe children” was successfully validated in the presence of Prof. Devi Prasad Misra, OSD cum Vice Chancellor, CPGC, Dr. K.C. Jena, Validictory Speaker Professor Dibakar Sarangi and organizing Secretary of the seminar and head of teacher education department Dr Manoranjan Pradhan.

The two days National Seminar on Education of Scheduled Tribe children was organised by the department of Teacher Education(BEd) and  inaugurated by OSD cum Vice Chancellor Prof Devi Prasad Mishra earlier with inauguration of wall magazine “Kunda Kalika” and TLM Exhibition by the guests headed by the Vice-chancellor

The seminar was fun-filled with interaction by the professors and experts with BEd students followed by a beautiful cultural events “Naibedya” with pomp and gaiety in learning ambiance and cultural flavour.

The Vice-chancellor appealed to the participants that the seminar is an opener to visualise the motto of Vikshit Bharat in the undivided Koraput districts of Odisha. Prof Mishra advised the teacher education department of the university to conduct research on tribal issues and challenges.

Prof Dibakar Sarangi as Chief Speaker of the valedictory session beautifully explained the main challenges of tribal children for ensuring quality education. Sarangi said tribal children are intellectually sound but their communicative skills and foundational knowledge are to be enhanced.Dr. K. C Jena congratulated the organising secretary and his team for fruitful arrangements of the seminar.

The guests are felicitated in each session. It is noteworthy that around 52 papers were presented in five technical sessions with vibrant speech of Prof Nityanand Pradhan of RIE NCERT, Bhubaneswar,Prof Dibakar Sarangi of PMIASE, Sambalpur,Dr Latika Mishra, Regional Director, IGNOU, Koraput,Prof Bharat Panda of Central University of Odisha,Dr Amulya Acharya of FM University, Balasore,Prof Devendra Sethi of DAVCTE, Koraput,Prof Sharad Sinha of NCERT, New Delhi and all paper presenters. The cultural events, wall magazine,TLM Exhibition by BEd students was really amazing and learning worthy.

All the speakers, chair persons of all sessions,VC,Registrar,CPGC,HOD and all faculties were felicitated with shawls,mementos and flower pots.While  organizing Secretary Dr Manoranjan Pradhan rendered vote of thanks to all stakeholders for whom the national seminar became grand success.
