BHUBANESWAR: One Leopard Skin Seizure Operation was conducted by Shri Ajit Kumar Satpathy (DFO City Forest Division). Under his direction ACF Shri Bijoy Parida, City Forest Cuttack Range Staff Ranger Smt. RashmiRekha Parida, Forester Rakesh Swain, Forester Suryakanta Sahoo, Forester Sambit Acharya and Forester Bhaskar Maharana along with Hon. Wildlife Warden Shri Kusal Biswas went forward to seize One Leopard Skin during an illegal trade and arrested two accused namely Pramod Jena and Rabinarayan Barik.
The Leopard Skin was seized near Tangi Tollgate. Both the accused have been court-forwarded. Cuttack Range Staff also helped in the operation.
Leopard (Panthera Pardus ) comes under schedule 1 , Wildlife Protection Act 1972 (Amended 2022) and Vulnerable under IUCN Redlist.
