BHUBANESWAR: If media reports and grapevines are to believed, Zone-11 ZP Member in Puri district, Dharmendra Sahoo before his death on Saturday, had attempted suicide several times earlier and was hospitalised.
Sources said, Sahoo’s wife had developed illicit affairs with a local BJD Minister after the powerful leader, had reportedly given a cash of Rs 80 Lakhs.
As the powerful Minister’s monetary help of Rs 80 Lakh had no documentary probe, ZP member Sahoo had initially sure to defalcate the amount while in the meantime, the so called powerful Minister’s illegal affairs with ZP members wife , had recorded in CCTV footage.
When ZP member Sahoo came to know his wife’s illicit affairs with the Minister, he had then attempted suicide and was admitted in a hospital for treatment.
Sources said, when ZP Member was of out hospital, the Minister through his Driver and middle men tried to recover the cash of Rs 80 from him while Sahoo remained missing for couple of days.
Locals of Nimapara and Gop blocks of Puri, however said , both Minister and ZP members were seen distributing relief materials during the last floods but since then, they both missing from scene .

She alleged Minister Samir Dash’s role in the entire issue.
Meanwhile, Odisha’s School and Mass Education Minister Dash has come under the scanner with the Opposition BJP linking him with the death of Sahoo, a BJD ZP member from Nimapada.
Sources said, Sahoo belongs to ruling BJD in Puri district, was found hanging with a cotton cloth at entrance of his house at Sishupalgarh area in Bhubaneswar. Sahoo was a front line leader of BJD in Nimapara and Gop areas in Puri. Before his death, the BJD leader shared a doubtful post on social media regarding video clips in his mobile.
