BHUBANESWAR/KENDRAPARA: Senior BJD Women wing leader and Zone-8 Zila Parishad member in Kendrapara Zila Parishad , Jyostna Rani Jena was on Friday wished the people of the district on 27th foundation day, which was came into being April 3, 1993, when late legendary, Biju Patnaik was the Chief Minister of Odisha.
“I wished the people of my Zone-8 in Particular and entire Kendrapara in general on this occasion and as lockdown continues, we prefer to mark the occasion in a low key manner,” the BJD Women wing leader said.
Jena, who is a Member, Planning, had earlier, it may be noted here that, donated her 5 months salary to Odisha CMRF to fight the outbreak of COVID-19. Jena was perhaps the first women leader of BJD from 3-tier Panchayati Raj system, who came wholeheartedly and donated her 5 months salary.
It may be noted here that, on April 3, 1993, Kendrapara became a district after its bifurcation from undivided Cuttack when Biju Babu was Chief Minister. The function was then attended by Chief Minister Biju Patnaik, Ministers Surendra Nath Nayak, late Bed Prakash Agarwal, Bijay Mohapatra, late Nalinikant Mohanty , Rajamata Sushree Devi of Aul Royal Palace.
