BHUBANESWAR: It seems, Vigilance Director YK Jethwa and his able team is flying high. The anti-corruption wing of the Odisha Government, which believes in zero tolerance , fetched Rs 22,61,430 from 3 interceptions and arrested 3 Class-1 Officers. 7 teams comprising 2 Division SPs, 9 DSPs and 7 Inspectors took part in the painstaking detections.
Dr Prakash Kumar Mohapatra, Regional Officer Odisha State Pollution Control Board, Rourkela was intercepted in Bhubaneswar while returning from Rourkela. Rs 1,75,810/- (suspected ill gotten cash) was recovered from his possession which he couldn’t account for satisfactorily. In this connection Bhubaneswar Vigilance . PS Case No.29 dtd.9.10.2021 U/s 7(a) 13(2) r/w 13(1)(b) PC (Amend)Act, 2018 has been registered. P. K Mohapatra has been arrested is being forwarded to Court.
Bidhan Chandra Sahu, SE, Baitarni Irrigation Division., Salapada, Keonjhar was intercepted by Odisha Vigilance near Panikoili while proceeding to CTC carrying huge cash of Rs 10,07,620/- (suspected to be ill gotten money) which he couldn’t account for satisfactorily. The amount has been recovered from his possession. In this connection Cuttack Vig. PS case No.16 dtd.9.10.2021 U/S 7(a) 13(2)r/w 13(1)(b) PC(Amend)Act,2018 has been registered against Sri Sahu.
1) Rs 89,000 was recovered during interception of Shri Narottam Behera, Regional Officer, Balasore, Pollution Control Board. During house search further Rs 9,25,000 unaccounted cash recovered.
