BHUBANESWAR/NEW DELHI: Chairman of World Odisha Society and Senior Journalist Kishore Dwibedi has lost his mother Smt Shrimantini Dwibedi. 86 years old Smt Dwibedi has been ailing for sometime. She breathed her last at 11.15 p.m. on Friday night at Dwibedi’s ancestral home in village Bari of District Jajpur in Odisha. Smt Dwibedi’s husband late Gokul Chandra Dwibedi has had earned name and fame as a well known educationist in Bari as well as in district Jajpur.
Smt Shrimantini Dwibedi was a simple, soft spoken, affectionate, kind hearted, religious and benevolent human being. Born in an aristocratic muktiar family of village Rampur, smt Dwibedi has been an active promoter of art and culture and used to have passion for social service. Dwibedi Couple have Five Daughters and Three Sons. Eldest son Kishore Dwibedi is currently holding Chairmanship of Journalists’ Development Council of India and has been pursuing Journalism in Delhi since last four decades. Other two sons Kaminikanta and Shrikanta, daughters Sabitri Dash, Satyabhama Tripathy, Sushama Mishra, Anupama Pati and Chandrama Sahu have been earning recognition in their respective professional pursuits.
The last rites of Smt Dwibedi has been done in native village Bari on Saturday morning. In her death spell of mourning looming large on entire Bari areas, Journalists fraternity of Odisha, Non – resident Odias in Delhi and National Capital region and Odia diaspora across the Globe.
The Dignitaries who condoled the demise of Smt Dwibedi include the Comptroller Auditor General of India Girish Chandra Murmu, Governor of Andhra Pradesh Biswabhushan Harichandan, Speaker of Odisha Assembly Dr. Surjya Narayan Patro, State Ministers Naba Das, Sushant Singh and Tusharkanti Behera, Former Union Ministers Srikant Jena, Jual Oram, PCC President Niranjan Patnaik, BJP State President Samir Mohanty, Former State Ministers K.V. SinghDeo and Prasad Harichandan, BJP’s National Spokesperson Dr. Sambit Patra, Deputy Leader of opposition in Odisha Assembly Bishnu Sethi, MPs Prasanna Acharya, Ramesh Chandra Ratna, Suresh Pujari, Aparajita Sarangi, Sangita SinghDeo and Sasmit Patra.
