NEW DELHI/BHUBANESWAR: World Odisha Society (WOS) celebrated 85th Birthday of Legendary Singer Pranab Pattnaik in virtual platform. Hosted around midnight of 20th and 21st January, the online musical session was attended by members and well wishers of WOS across the Globe. Many fans and followers of Shri Pattnaik among the attendees offered their Birthday wishes in form of recitals of his songs. When the entire atmosphere was reverberating with the soul soothing sound of Shri Pattnaik’s ever memorable and much popular numbers like “He Atman Nidra Parihari”, “ Maa Tume Jagatara Saha Bharasha”, “Majhire Karide Paari”, unusual enthusiasm and unprecedented enchantment were witnessed among the participants.
Chairing the Ceremony, Chairman of WOS Kishore Dwibedi described Pranab Pattnaik as the best Odia vocalist of the century. His massive contribution to Odia music industry since more than five decades is amazing and astounding, Shri Dwibedi narrated. Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, wife of Pranab Pattnaik, Kasturika Pattnaik observed that her family was overwhelmed by the affection and honour showered on Shri Pattnaik by the members of WOS during the Birthday celebration. Delivering her speech, the Founder of WOS Dr Arundhati Debi, underlined that the extraordinary talent, astounding excellence and awesome creativity of Pranab Pattnaik is uncommon and incomparable.
At the outset of the meeting the President of Russia Odia Samaj and WOS’s International Convenor Santosh Mishra presented his Birthday greetings to Pranab Pattnaik by singing his epoch making immortal song, “Indradhanura Saptaranga”. Other prominent personalities, who conveyed their Birthday messages during the occasion include WOS’s adviser Dhirendra Kar and International co-ordinator Akshaya Mohanty from U.S.A, WOS’s Vice – Chairman Dr Nalini Pati from Australia, Barada Prasanna Das, Abhijit Majumdar, Pushpanjali Barik, Khirabdi Tanaya Jena, Reeta Patra and Shrimant Biswal.
Cultural General Secretary of WOS Kaveri Behera presented vote of thanks.Distinguished dignitaries present include Dr Jayashree Nanda from London, Sreemarani Das from Ireland, Hrudanand Prusty, Krupanidhi Biswal, Swetanka Rajguru, Sanjay Kumar Panda, Anish Puja Panda, Asish Kumar Dash and Umakant Jena. WOS’s youth wing member Nandan Dwibedi well managed the digital control room.
