BHUBANESWAR:The state government is taking several steps to strengthen healthcare services in Odisha. The state government is preparing an ambitious plan for Vision Odisha 2036 and has set a target of setting up world-class disease diagnosis and testing centers in every district of the state by 2036. This was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Parvathi Parida on Sunday.
This was announced by Deputy Chief Minister Smt. Parida while attending the inaugural function of the 2-day ‘Sum Ultimate Medicare Meet on Imaging and Interventional Therapy’ Summit – 2025, organized in association with Sum Ultimate Medicare (SUMMUM).
Professor (Dr.) Manojaranjan Nayak, Founding President of the Society for Education and Research (SEAR), welcomed Mrs. Parvathi Parida.
Along with this, Ms. Parida said that medical education and research will be further promoted by installing digital technologies like telemedicine, teletechnology in every district. She said that the state government is committed to making Odisha a regional hub for modern, affordable and compassionate healthcare services.
He said that the government will be careful to implement all the proposals passed in this conference, and that there is a need to take care of the mental health of the common man and even doctors.
Praising the work of Sam Ultimate Medicare (Sammam), Tourism In-charge Smt. Parida said that Sam Ultimate Medicare (Sammam) has taken a pioneering role in the field of medical tourism. She said that patients from Odisha’s neighboring states like West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar are choosing Sam Ultimate Medicare for their treatment.
Delivering the welcome address at the inaugural function of the conference, organized on the theme ‘Advanced Patient Care with Interventional Radiology and Cardiac Imaging: When Imaging Leads, Interventions Leads’, Dr. Shwetapadma Dash, CEO of SAMMM, said that the conference has taken on a global role in healthcare delivery, research and medical education.
Dr. Dash said that the number of beds in this hospital, which is only five years old, has now reached 575 and that it has all the latest facilities for patient care.
The event was attended by Dr. Sudeep Acharya, Organizing Chairman of Summit-2025 and Senior Consultant, Department of Radiology, Sum Ultimate Medicare, Dr. Amar Mukund, President-elect of Indian Society of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (ISVIR), Dr. Praful Kumar Das, President of Odisha Radiology and Imaging Association (ORIA) and Consultant Radiologists, SCB Medical College, Dr. Satyasundar Gajendra Mohapatra, Secretary of ORIA and Head of Department of Radio-Diagnostics, IMS & Sum Hospital, and Vice-Chairman of Summit-2025 and Dr. Golak Nath Pasha, Consultant, Radiology Department, Sammam, provided information on cutting-edge cardiac imaging and interventional radiology.
Brigadier Dr. Biraj Mohan Mishra, Chief of Medical Services of Sammam, and senior officials and doctors were present at the inauguration ceremony.
At the end of the program, Dr. Sambit Kumar Pattanay, Organizing Secretary of Summit-2025 and Consultant, Department of Interventional Radiology, SAMMM, proposed the vote of thanks.
The two-day conference featured discussions and discussions on cardiac imaging and interventional radiology through various scientific sessions.
