BHUBANESWAR:The role of OBC Morcha is important in the formation of the government. This Morcha has produced many MPs and MLAs. In fact, compared to our population, the OBC community is backward today. In addition, it is deprived of constitutional rights. The cooperation of everyone is necessary to achieve the goal of overall development of the OBC community, said OBC Morcha State President and MLA Shri Pradyumna Kumar Nayak.
The new state president of BJP OBC Morcha, Shri Nayak, was felicitated at the state office today. On this occasion, Shri Nayak said that the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi is making tireless efforts for the upliftment of this section. We all have to work to ensure that all the demands of the OBC Morcha reach the Assembly and Delhi courts. The OBC Morcha will establish contact with the neglected backward class people in every corner of Odisha and work for their development. Our priority will be to strengthen the organization by uniting everyone. Shri Nayak said that efforts will be made to successfully implement the important responsibility given by the party.
Former State President of OBC Morcha, Shri Surath Biswal said that since the formation of the Bharatiya Janata Party OBC Morcha, this organization has met the leaders of various OBC communities in the state and has held many programs and protests for social justice. The then government neglected the OBCs a lot.
It deprived OBCs from municipal and panchayat elections and did not provide reservation in education and jobs. After the BJP government came to power in Odisha, it has made reservation in education for the OBC community. Shri Biswal said that such efforts for the constitutional rights of the OBC community will continue in the coming days as well. On this occasion, the new and previous presidents of the Morcha were felicitated by presenting them with Utaria and a bouquet of flowers.
Morcha State General Secretary Eng. Gyanendra Swain presided over the meeting and gave a report on the last five years of the Morcha. Among others, OBC Morcha National Executive Member Shri Dushmanta Das, Former State Vice President Shri Subash Jena, Cuttack District President Shri Sukant Biswal and other state officers and district presidents of the Morcha were present.
