2. Nili Das (25) w/o-Late Manoranajn Mahapatra of vill-Lakhapada, PS-Ranapur, Dist-Nayagarh a/p- Darugaon, Chandeswar, PSTangi, Dist-Khordha.
3. Mitu Das (26) S/o-Trinath Das of village-Rajajankia PSChandapur, Dist-Nayagarh.

Circumstances Of arrest
The deceased person has been identified as Manoranjan Mahapatra (32) S/o-Gangadhar Mahapatra of Lakhapada, PS-Ranapur, Dist-Nayagarh. He was married to Nili Das of Raj Jankia, PSChandapur, Dist-Nayagarh.
He had disputes with some localities of Ranapur as a result of which he along with family shifted to Chandeswar under Tangi PS. He was an anti-social with multiple cases against him at different police stations across 2-3 districts. He was wanted in two dacoity cases in Nayagarh. As the deceased used to drink and torture the wife very often, the wife Nili decided to get rid of him. For this purpose she contacted her friend Bikram Sahoo and cousin brother Mitu Das to finish the deceased.
Recently, on dated 20.01.2023 deceased Manoranjan assaulted the wife mercilessly. That was the immediate reason to kill him within 1-2 days. So, as per plan, in the evening on dated 21.01.2023, accused Bikram sahoo purchased the suitcase from a showroom in Chandapur, Dist-Nayagarh and came to the house of the deceased in Chandeswar.
They had a party and the accused persons made the deceased drink a lot of wine so as to push him to an intoxicated state. After the deceased slept under the influence of alcohol, all three arrested persons killed him by strangulating his throat. Then they disposed off the body inside Haripur jungle at the same night by putting it in the suitcase purchased in the evening. So, the motive of the crime is revenge. The arrested persons are being forwarded to court today. Further investigation is in progress.
