BHUBANESWAR: All Roads leading to Biju Patnaik International Airport here were jam-packed and it seems, like lockdown returned with commuters and Air passengers faced hardship in view of the welcome ceremony hosted by BJD to receive Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on arrival here on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar, had advised air passengers travelling between 8 AM to 1PM on Tuesday, to reach at least 3 hours prior to their timing at Airport while most of passengers were unaware of it and faced a lot of difficulties in reaching at Airport.

On Tuesday,  there was heavy traffic rush from Airport crossings to Pallaspalli,Sishu Bhawan to Hospital Chaka,Janpath road from Vanivihar to Mastercanteen & Khandagiri Jagamara road. Around 30 platoons of security forces were deployed as more than 50,000 BJD workers and supporters gathered at Airport to welcome Chief Minister Patnaik.

Meanwhile, the Lifetime Achievement awardee Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik  received a warm welcome from his fans, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) workers and cabinet colleagues at Bhubaneswar airport here after he returned from New Delhi. After landing at airport, Patnaik waved at his supporters gathered outside the airport. Addressing the crowd, he expressed his gratitude to people of Odisha for the grand welcome and honour. “Priya Bhai O Bhauni Mane! Apana mane khusi ta? Mu bi bahut khusi (Dear brothers and sisters! Are you happy? I am happy too),” said Patnaik from a luxury bus.
