Week-Long Road Safety Campaign launched to Sensitise Students

BHUBANESWAR: In a bid to sensitise its students and employees about road safety, Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA) here launched a week-long program to create awareness in the campus of Institute of Technical Education and Research (ITER), the Deemed to be University’s faculty of engineering and technology on Tuesday.

Senior officials of the university, led by the Chancellor Prof. D.P. Ray, presented yellow roses to the students not wearing helmet or not using seat belt while red roses were given to those obeying the safety rules. Chocolates were given to girl students.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Ray stressed the importance for upholding traffic rules to avoid unnecessary accidents.

Prof. Pradip Kumar Sahu, Dean, ITER, Mr. Jugal Kishore Das, SOA’s Director (Resources) and Chief Vigilance Officer and Mr. Sanjay Kumar Sahu, Director, Legal Affairs, among others, were present. Mr. Siddhartha Das, Assistant Manager, conducted the program.
