BHUBANESWAR: ‘Mo Sarkar’ or 5T on Tuesday got two more wings with Women and Child Development Department and Mission Shakti came under it.
Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made the announcement at a special function through video conferencing from Lok Seva Bhawan in Bhubaneswar. Patnaik said, WCD department plays an incredible role in the development of women and children in the state.
Among other senior government officials including 5T Secretary V K Pandian, Women and Child Development and Mission Shakti Minister Tukuni Sahoo and chief secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy was present in the event.
By providing them nutritious food the WCD department has played a significant role in reducing the mother and child mortality rate across the state. Besides, the WCD department also ensured that the benefits of government the scheme is availed by the eligible beneficiaries, he added.
Similarly, the Mission Shakti aims at economic empowerment of rural women in which around 70 lakh women are associated with is also included under the Mo Sarkar initiative.
Moreover, the CM also advised the employees and members of WCD and Mission Shakti department to ensure transparency in their work by avoiding all sorts of corrupts practices.
