BHUBANESWAR: On Thursday, Subhakanta Swain, Section Officer, O/o the Chief Engineer, Minor Irrigation, Bhubaneswar has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while taking bribe Rs.8,000/- from a Complainant for processing the application of his brother & issuance of the contractor license.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at three locations of Sri Swain, Section Officer from DA angle. Further, Rs.14990/- has been recovered from office drawer of Sri Swain and Rs.5500/- from his personal search so far.
In this connection, Bhubaneshwar Vigilance PS case no. 35/2023 U/s 7 PC (Amendment)Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress.
