BHUBANESWAR: On Tuesday , Debasis Mohapatra, Sr. Clerk, O/o District Ayurveda Medical Officer, Keonjhar has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs. Rs.5000/- (Rupees five thousand) from a Complainant (Ayurvedic Assitant ) for preparing arrear salary bill and drawl of the same. The entire bribe money has been recovered from accused Sri Mohapatra and seized.
Earlier, Sri Mohapatra had demanded Rs.15,000/- from the complt. for drawl and processing the arrear salary bill of complt and other Ayurveda Assistants. Against the overall demand of bribe Rs15,000/-, accused Sri Mohapatra, while receiving bribe Rs.5,000/- as advance today was nabbed by the Vigilance team.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at 3 locations of Sri Mohapatra from DA angle.
In this connection, Balasore Vigilance P.S. Case No.26 dt.25.09.2023 U/s 7 P.C. (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Mohapatra, Sr. Clerk.Detailed report follows.
