ANGUL/BHAWANIPATNA/BHUBANESWAR: On Wednesday, Nabin Kumar Satapathy, ASI of Police, Kiakata PS in Angul has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs. 8,000/- from a Complainant to help his cousins in a case registered earlier in Kiakata PS.
Sri Satpathy, ASI had demanded Rs.10,000/- bribe from the complainant and had collected first instalment Rs. 2000/- few days back and was nabbed today by the team of Odisha Vigilance while taking the balance bribe amount.
In this connection, Berhampur Vigilance PS Case No. 12/2023 U/s 7 P.C Amendment Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress.
On the other hand , in another incident , on the allegation of acquisition of disproportionate assets by Kishore Chandra Sahu, Assistant Engineer, General Public Health(GPH)Section, Bhawanipatna, in Kalahandi, simultaneous searches are being conducted by Odisha Vigilance at 3 places in Kalahandi district.
1 Addl. SP, 3 DSPs, 4 Inspectors and other staff are conducting search on the strength of search warrants issued by Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhawanipatna. Searches are in progress.
