BHUBANESWAR: On Friday, short while ago, Sri Durga Prasad Mohapatra, Junior Stenographer, office of District Treasury Officer, Nayagarh has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and accepting bribe Rs 48,000/- from a Complainant (Teacher) in order to process applications of 161 teachers(@ Rs 300/- per teacher) for opening of PRAN(Permanent Retirement Account Number) from PRAN centre, under IT Department, Bhubaneswar. The entire bribe amount has been recovered from the possession of Sri Mohapatra and seized.
Following the trap, simultaneous searches are going on at two locations of Sri Mohapatra, Jr. Stenographer from DA angle.
In this connection, Bhubaneswar Vigilance PS Case no 11/2023 U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against the accused Sri Mohapatra. Detailed report follows.
